On Wednesday, May 29, 2019, François de Rugy, Minister of Ecological Transition, signed the “Hydrogen for Road Mobility” Commitment for Green Growth (ECV) with major energy manufacturers. This industry-state commitment aims to implement the National Hydrogen Plan and to achieve its objectives. It is in this context that Vincent Lemaire, President of SAFRA, was invited to this event, as a signatory of this ECV Hydrogen, and also as the leader of the hydrogen mobility project in France.
This commitment binds the state, represented by the Minister of Ecological Transition and Solidarity, Mr. François de Rugy, to the various project leaders, namely, the Automotive Platform (PFA), the Atawey Company, the Engie Group, the Faurecia Group, the Hynamics Company (EDF Group), the McPhy Company, the Michelin Group, the AFHYPAC (French Association for Hydrogen and Fuel Cells) and the SAFRA Company, represented by Vincent Lemaire.
Many commitments have been made by the different project leaders and the French government, and are recorded in this document, with a triple objective
- to facilitate the deployment of the hydrogen sector by acting on the obstacles to be removed and the levers to be put in place by the various stakeholders
- to have concrete commitments from the French hydrogen actors in addition to the commitments of the State in the plan.
- Promote and publicize the actions/initiatives/projects underway in the French hydrogen industry (“Equipe de France Hydrogène”)
Thanks to the signature of this agreement, SAFRA officially becomes the pilot of the hydrogen bus project in France, in coherence with its flagship project of manufacturing electric buses under the Businova brand, and thanks to which the company became last year the first manufacturer of hydrogen buses in France.
