We were delighted to take part in the inauguration of the Hyport station at Toulouse-Blagnac airport, the first in Europe dedicated to the production and distribution of renewable hydrogen on an airport site.
The station, powered by local electrolysis, was officially opened on Monday December 4. It is equipped with two distribution stations, each with a crucial role to play. The first, located on the runway side, supplies vehicles operating within the airport, including our Businova vehicles which transport passengers to and from the airport. The second, located on the city side, is accessible to all, offering the possibility of refueling in just a few minutes.
With a capacity of 1 MW, the station can produce 400 kilos of low-carbon hydrogen per day, meeting the needs of the station itself and contributing to a more sustainable transition in the aviation sector.
Of the five Businova buses, two shuttle regularly between parking lots P5 and P6 and the terminal (around 3km) all day long, for a daily usage of around 150km. Another bus shuttles passengers between the concourse and the aircraft on the tarmac, for companies that don’t have access to the airport walkways. The last two have been awarded to Airbus to provide regular shuttle services for the company’s employees from Monday to Friday.
