SAFRA exhibits its first hydrogen bus at the national public transport meetings

SAFRA will be present at the Rencontres Nationales du Transport Public, which is being held in Nantes from October 1 to 3, 2019. The two activities around Public Transport will share the stand 4 of hall 4. Our historical activity SAFRA Renovation will be highlighted on this stand, with the presentation of its recent developments and business wins. For SAFRA Manufacturer, the innovation presented on this stand will be the first hydrogen Businova manufactured and delivered in France. Several actors of the French hydrogen industry will be present, such as McPhy, Eveer’hy’pôle and of course the SMT Artois-Gohelle, the first French agglomeration to have developed a H2 line on its network.

Bus Businova Tadao

As the pilot of the hydrogen bus project in France, following the signature of the Commitment for Green Growth (ECV) last May, SAFRA gathered on its stand several actors of the hydrogen sector. The company McPhy, a specialist in the production and distribution of carbon-free hydrogen, the SEM Eveer’Hy’Pôle, a test center for hydrogen vehicles and equipment, and of course the Syndicat Mixte des Transports Artois-Gohelle (SMTAG). On June 21, SMTAG inaugurated the first hydrogen station in France as well as the first Businova on the six hydrogen buses that will operate on the Bulle 6 TADAO line. All these actors of the hydrogen sector, McPhy, Eveer’Hy’Pôle, the SMTAG, as well as SAFRA Constructeur and SAFRA Rénovation, will present their products and services, as well as case studies in the form of short conferences on a dedicated space on the SAFRA stand. The program of this Forum is online on the safra.fr website.

In Businova news, SAFRA Constructeur is currently manufacturing the 12 hydrogen Businova ordered in 2018. After the delivery of 6 hydrogen Businova for the Artois-Gohelle agglomeration, SAFRA plans to deliver 5 hydrogen vehicles to BE Green which will circulate on the KEOLIS Versailles network, as well as a first one in Le Mans. Other orders have also been placed for rechargeable hybrid electric Businova vehicles, in a diesel version for Albi, and in a gas version for Grenoble. The latter vehicle is a first in France, as it is the only rechargeable hybrid electric vehicle that operates with a CNG range extender, capable of running in zero-emission mode on a given route. Transdev has chosen the Albi-based manufacturer for the SMTC network in the Grenoble area, operated by SEMITAG. A press conference will be held on Tuesday, October 1st at 1:30 pm on the SAFRA stand with the presence of Transdev, the SMTC of Grenoble and the SEMITAG.
